Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund
XLY - US stocks
XLY seeks to track the performance of the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector Index, which contains stocks of companies that manufacture products and provide services that consumers purchase on a discretionary basis - including luxury items, household goods, hotels, restaurants, and automobiles. XLY is appropriate for investors seeking long-term growth from targeted exposure to the Consumer Discretionary sector. XLY holds a smaller and less diversified selection of stocks than a broad index fund, and may be more volatile.
When XLY declines in value, we’ll automatically sell it and buy the alternate as part of our tax-loss harvesting strategy.
